Being a HUGE fan of Richelle Mead's Vampire Academy series, I was very excited to get my hands on the spin off series Bloodlines. Those of you who are a fan as well, I think you will be very pleased with the new addition. Since this book isn't actually out until August, 2011, I am very pleased to share my review with you and give some insight to the fabulous workings of Richelle Mead.

Bloodlines was written in the Alchemist, Sydney's POV. I really liked Sydney in VA but we didn't get to REALLY know her. Once you read this gem of a book you will get an understanding of who she really is and why she is the way she is and once again, she has proved to be an amazing character. You will be happy to know that there are character appearances in this book as well as some key roles. Those of you who came to like Adrian, well, I'm here to say that he is back again and I do believe you will fall for him if you haven't before.

Sydney was not in good standings with the Alchemists due to her involvment with Rose Hatheway and since there is a new mission, she will do everything she can to convince the Alchemists that she is more than acceptable in the role.

Sydney is ordered into hiding to protect the life of Moroi princess Jill Dragomir (you will find out why in the book. Can't give all the goodies away).  Sydney, Jill and a crew are sent out to Palm Springs, California to enroll in a new school, a human school. You get a good understanding of Adrian, whom I found an even more enticing character since reading this. This book doesn't lack the twists and the shocks that will have you gasping, pulling your curiosity, guessing, sighing, and saying "OMG!"

The ending is so perfect and it will, no doubt, have you wide-eyed and gasping! You do not want to miss out on this fantastic new spin off  by Richelle Mead.

A special "Thank You" to my friend Alexa for sharing this book with me!
