Angelfire by Courtney Allison Moulton

Angelfire (Angelfire, #1)
A very enjoyable read. I got emotionally pulled in and fell in love with Ellie and Will!

An Ancient Warrior reincarnated into an everyday teen, Ellie Monroe's nightmares become a reality. Life is not what it appeared to be for the normal teen who likes to shop, go to the movies and hang out with her friends. She is about to be Awakened by a beautiful, fierce stranger named Will, who is sworn to protect her. Little does Ellie know, the reapers in her nightmares are very real and they will stop at nothing to try and destroy her.

Slowly her memories come back to her and she learns she is the only one capable of wielding the Angelfire that destroys reapers.

Together Ellie and Will fight to keep Bastian, a very powerful reaper, from finding the being believed to be a true soul reaper capable of destroying Ellie's soul forever. Will and Ellie must prevent the soul reapers resurrection.

I loved that this wasn't a typical YA read. Ellie isn't some tortured, unpopular heroin we read a lot about. She has a normal everyday life and it makes it easy for readers to relate. This book was not over-the-top dramatic and detailed that runs on and on. No, it had just the right amount of description to lure you in.

The romance executed without negligence and made me want to read more! I would have liked to know more on Ellie's dad but maybe that will come in the near future. The secondary characters were detailed, very pleasant and I really like that Kate, Ellie's bff, seemed to acquire a realistic friendship with Ellie. I couldn't help at times to catch myself giggle at some of her actions. I could actually picture it happening before me.

Overall, I gave this book 4 stars. I feel that there were some pieces left untouched i would have liked to have read about. Nevertheless, I have to say that this book was a very enjoyable read and it left me wanting more.

A great Debut from Courtney Allison Moulton.

Angel Burn by L.A. Weatherly

 What an amazing book!!
This brilliant, action packed page turner will have you on the edge of your seat craving for more!! This is a MUST READ for 2011!!!

This story is about a girl named Willow, who isn’t the typical high school student from Pawtucket, a sleepy little town crouched in the foothills of the Adirondack Mountains. Willow has always been able to read people by touching them and by doing so she can see into their future.

The story starts off with a classmate of Willow’s wanting a reading. Willow was feeling a little apprehensive because she had a bad feeling about it. This is when the story really starts to evolve and the characters start to emerge.

L.A. Weatherly executed the timing just right when she introduced the beautiful and cunning assassin Alex. He’s quick on his feet and fighting for a purpose but when he is sent on a mission to terminate Willow, he has a change of heart and upon watching her in the shadows, he finds her to be beautiful.

The story takes off quickly from this point and doesn’t stop until the very end when the page is blank and you are thirsting for more. I loved the action and adventure in this book. All I can say is that you yourself will have to read this for yourself. This will be added to my favorites of 2011.

Thank you Candlewick Press and NetGalley for this AMAZING read!!
